Prayer Of Confession And Thanksgiving
Holy God, we can be so full of fear at times. Afraid of the unknown, afraid of what is beyond our control, afraid of what is strange to us. And we know that fear stops us in our tracks, hinders our action and gives excuse for not doing what you call us to do and what you empower us to do. So, we pray that you will give us courage. O God, give us strong hearts and open hands, that we might set aside our fear and walk confidently into this World you have made.
Lord, we thank you for each new morning with its light, for the rest and shelter of the night, for health and food, for love and friends, for everything Thy goodness sends.
May grace, mercy and peace be with us from God our Father. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Prayers For Others
Lord Jesus, we come to you today and thank you for the privilege of praying for others. Bless our families, our children and grandchildren with your love. Bless us all who are here and those who are at home and Aged Care Facilities. May our love for you help us to love and forgive others and make a difference in our World.
We pray for teachers, for students, for all of those in authority and leadership, both locally and throughout the World. We pray for the lost, the hurting, the lonely and sick, the bereaved, and those who are imprisoned. Send your comfort, your peace and your calming presence to those who are without hope. Protect the defenceless and hold them close to your heart. We pray for peace in the World. Create goodwill between every Race and Nation.
Lord, we ask that you will open our heart to receive genuine love for your Commandments. Teach us, Lord, to love you first above all else, and to love our neighbours as we love ourselves.
We pray for the Church, that we may grow in our awareness that Christ is in us and see your hand in the people, the events in our lives and in the created world around us.
We pray for the renew of your Spirit in our hearts: that you will stir up into a flame the gift of the Spirit so that we may build up the Body of Christ and bring forth your reign in the World.
We pray for a new spirit in our personal interactions, that we may speak with reverence and gentleness to one another, recognizing that we have become sisters and brothers in Christ.
We pray for the gift of Hope: that we may remain confident in God’s love toward us despite hardship, confusion, conflicts, and ill-spoken words against us
We pray for the unity of all Christians, that your Spirit will heal the misunderstandings and wounds in the Body of Christ and lead us to a greater unity of mind and action as we confront evil and work to ease human suffering.
We pray for all missionaries, that their words and deeds may draw others to Christ and that they may be ever refreshed by your love.
We pray for those who experience injustice, that you will raise up and heal all who disrespected or treated unjustly and bring forth the truth that will set them free.
We pray for all who are struggling economically, that you will calm their fears, guide them to resources that will sustain them, and help them to be open to others who wish to support them.
We pray for all who are ill, that your healing Spirit will ease their suffering, give them strength, and restore them to wholeness.
We pray for greater respect for your creation, that we may recognize our interdependence with the created world and work to preserve the balance in nature that you have established.
We pray for all researchers, that you will inspire and guide all who are working to defeat disease or promote harmony between Humans and created World.
We pray for all who have been orphaned, that you will protect them from harm, help them to find people whom they can trust and touch the hearts of many to reach out to them.
We pray for Government and Business leaders, that you will inspire them to develop policies to protect the health and well-being of the Human family and promote the renewal of the economy.

We pray for the peoples of India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
We give thanks for the diversity of peoples in these countries: their cultures, values and spirituality, for the resilience of minority religious groups and those on the margins of society such as indigenous communities, Dalits, women, youth, the disabled, amid discrimination and persecution, for the contributions of Christians and Christian churches in these countries to education and health services and for their innovative attempts in contextualizing their worship, theology and institutional life, and for efforts to forge inter-religious solidarity for the sake of the common good.
We pray for those who struggle to overcome grinding poverty, for Christians and others who selflessly work in the community, their efforts at ensuring the rights of all citizens, and their collaborative work, for efforts to build understanding and harmony among peoples across religious, caste and ethnic identities, for peoples’ movements struggling for the rights of women, Dalits, Indigenous peoples, and the integrity of the earth, and for leaders to keep priority on the wellbeing of the people and the earth itself amid demands for economic growth.
Prayer from India:
When everything around seems to be collapsing into injustice and chaosCreator God, teach us to love youand to recognize that you hold the earth gently in your hands. When we do not know just what to do and where to turn, teach us to trust your wisdom,so that we can discern your presence in events around us.When we become unforgiving and vindictive, teach us to grasp your tenderness, and forgive us for all we do wrong. When violence, fear and hatred seem to overtake us,teach us to receive your compassion, and steer our lives in the ways of justice and peace. When we think we can go it alone, teach us to depend on your grace,so that with patience and persistence we can transform the world. But most of all, teach us to appreciate your goodness, for in you we have new life!

We pray that through The Leprosy Mission Niger activities, new cases of leprosy will be detected early and that you will bring transformation, healing, and hope to people affected by leprosy and their communities in Niger.
Niger has been plagued with insecurity and attacks from terrorists and armed bandits. There are many communities that cannot be reached due to insecurity. We pray for lasting peace, safety, and security and for your protection on staff and people affected by leprosy.
We pray for your provision of resources to implement the new multiyear projects. These projects aim to improve the detection of leprosy cases, the sustainability of the Danja Health and Leprosy Centre, as well as the inner well-being of people affected by leprosy in the Maradi region.
We pray for continued good collaboration with the Leprosy Regional Coordinators, CSL Danja’s technical team, and IDEA Niger. They play a significant role alongside TLM Niger in implementing Leprosy Control and inner-well being activities for people affected by leprosy.
We pray for the TLM Niger team and their families, that you will bless their efforts and passion for the strategic vision and objectives of the Mission. We pray for your help and wisdom, and for the strength to manage the workload.
Niger has a very small population of Christians; most of our beneficiaries do not know Christ. We pray for TLM Niger staff as we share your love with people affected by leprosy through the services we and our partners provide.

We pray for those who will lead Religious Instruction classes at Bald Hills State School this year. Guide them in the words to say and the approach to take with the children in their classes. May the Holy Spirit challenge the children in the RI classes to come to a closer relationship with you.
We pray for Kylie Conomos, the Scripture Union Chaplain at Bald Hills State School. Please guide and equip her as she starts a new school term, and as she seeks to address
the concerns and needs of children, parents and teachers at the school.
We pray for those who we have not seen for some time and who are unable to attend worship. Please guide and comfort them in their particular circumstances. May they be aware of your care for them as they meet what each new day brings. In Jesus’ name we pray.
THE LORDS PRAYER
Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil,
For the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
Now and forever. Amen.
